Ante Natal Care for Pregnant Women
Our Experience in School Children Screening from 2013 highlighted the importance of strengthening maternal health in the local community so as to give children, the best start in life. In September 2017 the scope of this program was expanded to include maternal health. The program is now called “Divine Mother and Child Health Program (DMCHP)”, with the vision to make the program more comprehensive and strive towards “Healthy Motherhood, Healthy Childhood”.
Recognizing the need for offering specialist care for Pregnant Women in Rural India right at their doorstep, DMCHP provides Ante Natal and Post Natal services by specialist Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in more than 60 Primary Health Care Centres and Community Healthcare Centres in Chikkaballapur, Belgaum, Gulbarga, Mandya Districts of Karnataka, Palwal District in Haryana, Kharghar and Yavatmal Districts in Maharashtra, Atal Nagar District in Chattisgarh.
Ante Natal Care in Chikkaballapur, Belgaum districts are being done in collaboration with Bangalore Society for Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Belgaum Society for Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Close to 20 specialist Gynaecologists offer Ante Natal Services in Primary Health Care centres in Bangalore and Belgaum.
Specialist clinical care, stratifying high risk pregnancy with medical intervention in concurrence with the Primary Health Care team, coupled with anaemia correction and prevention, distribution of Multi Nutrient supplement- SaiSure has resulted in positive impact on maternal health with increase in mean haemoglobin. Data of the Pregnant Women and Children is digitized in a customized healthcare tool developed by GrowAyu- Healthcare Solutions provider.
Mother Support Groups are formed to empower pregnant women, their families and the community with essential information related to pregnancy and child birth.
